February 2003Are You Here?
Well, to start us off, how about news of the already growing campaign to safeguard the future of the Lancaster Music Co-op. Since you've gotten this far, you probably already know what it is, and that the co-op enjoys a pretty close relationship to the Yorkie House. If you don't know anything else, then go and visit their smashing, shiny and new website to see just what this valuable resource brings to lancaster. You may not be aware that Lancaster MP Hilton Dawson has organised a Public Meeting about the future of the Co-op for 7.30pm on Thursday, September 26th at St Thomas' Church in Lancaster. T oread more, click here. No planning permission has yet been sought, and many councillors are talking quite optimistically about the co-op remaining. However, it's still best to keep the fires buring just in case at this point. You may want to bear the following ideas in mind, in case you haven't already:
We'll try and keep you posted about developments as we get the news in. Nearer to home....... You may have missed the Yorkie Weekender, a three day festival of all manner of things musical at the Yorkie. I'm assured by my faithful contributors that reviews are imminent. They're all liars, of course, but there you go. Illness precluded me from staying out too late myself over the wekend (no, honsetly), so it's all up to our staff writers. RIght guys? Guys? You'll have to keep checking the reviews section....... The Guestbook has risen, pheonix-like, from it's watery grave. It may take a while to reload itself fully, but then, it always did, really. Go and start a fight. Plans to re-design the site have been seriously put back by a nasty, information-eating virus which ate all of our lovely new designs, along with wrecking my keyboard and modem. Thanks to the chap who sent me that. Elsewhere....... Readers of a certain disposition may be interested to learn of the gradual appearance of a website for The Puma Sutras. The site is still under construction, but promises many interesting glimpses into the domestic lifestyles of Lancaster's self-styled gods of Rawk. Yes. On a "Let's link up to some other websites" theme, top local Singer songwriter Mollie Baxter would very much like to draw your attention to her own lovingly handcrafted website. So pay attention at the back, there.
